Gold prices fell on Thursday to the levels of 3,330 dollars per ounce, abandoning their gains made in the previous session, as the US dollar regained its momentum following the easing of uncertainty about the position of the chairman of the Federal Reserve.

While reports indicated that President Trump considered firing Fed Chairman Jerome Powell, he later denied the allegations, but reiterated his criticism of interest rate policy.

On the trade front, the EU's top trade official traveled to Washington on Wednesday for talks on tariffs with top U.S. trade representatives.

Tensions between the United States and China have also eased with the lifting of the ban on artificial intelligence chips and a new trade agreement with Indonesia, easing trade concerns and reducing the attractiveness of gold as a safe haven.

The price of gold in Egypt

Gold prices in Egypt fell on Thursday,as the 21st highest traded gold in Egypt is now trading at yesterday's levels at 4635 pounds.

The price of 24-carat gold in Egypt also recorded levels of 5297 pounds, while 18-carat gold is trading at levels of 3973 pounds per gram.

On the other hand, the price of the dollar minted on Thursday in Egypt rose to the levels of 49.50 pounds, while the dollar price inside the official banks in Egypt rose slightly to the levels of 49.50 pounds, and the dollar price in the black market also rose to the levels of 49.75 pounds.
