The global price of gold

Gold futures rose, maintaining their high after making slight gains in the previous two sessions.

The precious metal rose today near the levels of 3,340 dollars per ounce, as the market assessed the risks of tariffs and the uncertainty of the prospects for easing monetary policy.

President Trump's sweeping tariff proposals, which include the imposition of new duties on imports of Canada, Brazil and copper, have also increased market uncertainty ahead of the August first tariff application deadline, enhancing the attractiveness of gold as a safe haven.

It is worth noting that gold has risen by about 27% since the beginning of the year due to geopolitical tensions, purchases by central banks and ongoing economic concerns.
