Growth in the European Manufacturing Sector Slows in October Amid Rising Costs
The Eurozone manufacturing sector recorded growth for the ninth consecutive month in October, even as the manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) slipped to 52.70 points from 52.90 in September, with production growth slowing to a four-month low.
Six out of eight countries tracked saw industrial growth, while France and Italy recorded a contraction. Despite a slowdown in new orders, the sector’s exports grew at their fastest pace in over four and a half years, and employment continued to expand.
Conversely, supply chain pressures intensified, and input costs rose at their fastest rate since May, prompting companies to increase their selling prices.
