What are the most important key data for today

The US Producer Price Index and US unemployment claims are the highlights.

The European session is expected to be rather quiet due to the lack of important data, but during the American session, the focus will be on the US producer price index data and weekly unemployment claims, after the US Consumer Price Index came in line with expectations yesterday.

At 3: 30 pm Egypt time, the producer price index in the United States for October will be released, followed by applications for unemployment benefits in the United States.

The producer price index is expected to rise on an annual basis from 1.8% to 2.3%, and the monthly increase from 0.0% to 0.2%, and the core producer price index is expected to reach 3.0% on an annual basis compared to 2.8% previously, while the monthly is also expected to rise from 0.2% to 0.3%.

The expectations are all positive, which may cause some additional gains for the US dollar, as the market may price some decisions in interest rates in 2025, knowing that the cut in December remains largely resolved whatever the results.

On the other hand, applications for unemployment benefits in the United States remain one of the most important releases that must be followed every week because it is a more accurate indicator of the state of the labor market.

This week, initial claims are expected to rise from 221 thousand to 224 thousand applications.

At 8: 00 pm Egypt time, we will have an appointment with Andrew Bailey, governor of the Bank of England.

At 9: 00 pm Egypt time, we will have a meeting with Christine Lagarde, the governor of the European Central Bank.

At 10: 00 pm, the appointment will be with a talk by Jerome Powell, the governor of the US Federal Reserve.
