Wall Street indices open Friday with a sharp decline. 

US indices opened Friday with a sharp decline,

as a result of China's retaliatory tariffs on US imports. 

The Dow Jones fell 2.3%.

The Nasdaq fell 1.6%. 

The S&P 500 fell 2.4%.

The fear index also rose 23.4%.
