UK Treasury secretary says inflation is expected to continue to fall this year

UK Treasury Secretary Jeremy Hunt said Wednesday he expects inflation to continue falling this year.

His comments come after the Office for National Statistics disclosed inflation data this month as it released the consumer price index which rose 6.7% in September year-on-year and 0.5% month-on-month.

In his statement, Hunt said inflation rarely falls in a straight line, but if we stick to our plan we still expect it to continue to fall this year.

And that the inflation rate of 6% is still very high in the UK.
