Oil fell slightly amid expectations of a Russian-Ukrainian meeting
WTI crude futures fell to about 63.2 dollars per barrel on Tuesday, with the peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.
US President Donald Trump announced that he is arranging a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin, following his summit on Monday with Zelensky and European leaders.
Zelensky also called his discussions with Trump very good, noting that they included talks about Ukraine's need for us security guarantees.
Any resolution of the Russian-Ukrainian war could lead to an end to sanctions on Russian energy exports, allowing Russian crude oil to be traded freely.
But most of the issues, such as the ceasefire, security guarantees, and how the peace process will proceed, have not yet been resolved.
Oil prices have fallen by about 10% this month, under the pressure of trade tensions and an increase in OPEC supplies .
