Oil prices rose with the opening of the day, as it opened with an upward gap after the missiles fired at the US base in Jordan killed three American soldiers and also late last week a fuel tanker belonging to the company Trafigura was hit by Houthi missiles.
According to the White House, three U.S. service members were killed and several injured in a drone air strike on troops stationed in a position northeast of Jordan near the Syrian border on Sunday.
They were the first American fatalities since Israel's war with Hamas began on October 7.
US President Joe Biden said in a statement that we are still collecting the facts of this attack, we know that it was carried out by Iranian-backed groups operating in Syria and Iraq, and I have no doubt that we will hold all those responsible accountable at the time and in the way we choose.
Iran has also denied any involvement in this operation, Iran's mission to the United Nations said in a statement published by the Iranian state.
The statement said that Iran had nothing to do with the attack on the American base.
The spokesman of the Iranian foreign ministry also commented on the matter, saying that these allegations have political goals aimed at distorting the facts in the region.
