Japanese stocks post sharp losses at the close of trading on Tuesday

Japan's Nikkei Index Closes Lower in Asian Trading

Japanese stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the Nikkei index declining across several sectors. Transportation and telecommunications were among the hardest hit.

Among the leading stocks that saw significant declines were SoftBank Group Corp., down 9.9%; Nitto Denko Co., down 9.1%; and Renesas Electronics Corp., down 6.8%.

The Nikkei index itself fell by 1.05%.

On the other hand, Orix T was the top gainer, rising 9.7%.

The Nikkei index continues to trade within its daily supply zone near the 58,557 level. The index also saw a decline of 1.05% by the end of the Asian trading session, falling to 58,976.

Some corrections are still expected if the index falls and closes below the current supply zone.
