HSBC cuts its forecast for the Fed from 75 basis points to 25 basis points this year

Citing the strong US economy and steady inflation, HSCB bank has revised the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) forecasts for 2024 and 2025. Analysts at the bank say that the timing of the first interest rate cut is still very uncertain:

- Expect cuts of 25 basis points this year.

- Forecast cuts of 75 basis points in 2025.

- He expects that the strong dollar will continue.

- A strong US economy and more stable inflation, will make it difficult for the Fed to start cutting interest rates right now.
