Gold Price in Egypt Today, Wednesday, February 18, 2026

Global Gold Price

Gold prices rose today, Wednesday, surpassing $4,900 after yesterday's declines, as investors bought today amid thin trading due to the Lunar New Year holiday in Asia.

Gold prices are currently at $4,920 per ounce.

Expectations of interest rate cuts remain a key factor in any future rises in gold, as lower borrowing costs support non-income-generating assets like gold.

In the long term, major banks still anticipate renewed gains, given the ongoing geopolitical tensions, concerns about the Federal Reserve's independence, and investors diversifying their portfolios away from sovereign bonds and currencies.

Investors are awaiting the release of the Federal Reserve's meeting minutes today for further clues about interest rate expectations.
