The price of gold in Egypt Today, Tuesday, September 16, 2025

The global price of gold

Gold prices rose on Tuesday, setting a new record high, as expectations of an interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve affected the US dollar.

Gold prices rose to a new historical peak near the levels of 3700 dollars per ounce, specifically at the levels of 3697 dollars per ounce, as the reduction of interest rates by 25 basis points is fully calculated, which shifts attention to the pace of easing monetary policy in the future.

The markets will be closely watching the statements of the chairman of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell, to draw insights on the inflation outlook, the weakness of the labor market, and the risks related to tariffs.

On the other hand, a US appeals court rejected an emergency request from the Trump administration to dismiss Lisa Cook, the governor of the Federal Reserve, before the meeting.
