Gold Price in Egypt today, Tuesday, January 6, 2026

Global Gold Price

Gold prices extended gains in early trading, as investors focus on a raft of important US economic data this week, looking for additional clues about the outlook for monetary policy.

Gold prices rose more than 1% today to $4,475 per ounce, the third consecutive day of gains, with yesterday's strong rally driven by the U.S. arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, which spurred safe-haven demand.

Gold rallied at the start of the year after its strongest annual performance last year since 1979, but in the near term, gold prices may face pressure from the rebalancing of commodity indices, which could prompt passive funds to reduce their positions after last year's record rally.
