The global price of gold

Gold prices rose today around the levels of 3,350 dollars per ounce, as investors awaited crucial US economic data today.

The precious metal rose ahead of the release of the US NFP non-farm payrolls data, and these data will be closely watched for new indicators on the economic outlook and the size and scope of possible interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve.

Interest-free gold usually benefits from lower interest rates.

Gold has steadily recovered most of its losses incurred at the end of June as a result of continued market uncertainty, amid growing fears that President Trump's massive tax and spending bill will add 3.3 trillion dollars to the fiscal deficit.
