The global price of gold
The price of gold fell during the Asian trading period on Monday near the levels of 2,627 dollars per ounce, retreating from the record highs set last week, before rising again with the start of the European trading period from these levels, and we still expect further ascent.
Traders are now expecting a cut of 25 basis points this week amid signs of a weakening labor market, and the likelihood of extending the cuts to next year.
Ahead of the Fed's decision, attention will be focused on retail sales and industrial production data, which may provide further indicators.
On the other hand, the Trump administration on Sunday renewed its request to the federal appeals court to dismiss Lisa Cook, a member of the Federal Reserve, raising concerns about the independence of the US central bank.
Traders are also watching the US-China talks, which are entering their second day in Madrid.
