The price of gold in Egypt Today, Wednesday, April 23, 2025

The global price of gold

Gold prices fell today after yesterday reaching levels of 3,500 dollars per ounce, as Trump retreated from his threats to dismiss the head of the Federal Reserve and his optimism to impose tariffs, as Trump stated that tariffs on China will be significantly reduced after reaching an agreement.

His lenient attitude towards the Fed chairman, as well as his comments on China, eased some of the market's fears and negatively affected the yellow metal.

On the other hand, the International Monetary Fund on Tuesday lowered its growth forecasts for the United States and the world this year, and Trump's tariff policy was the main reason behind this reduction.

JP Morgan also expects gold prices to exceed USD 4,000 next year.
