Gold prices stabilized on Wednesday after jumping to an all-time high in the previous session, as investors awaited the details of US President Donald Trump's plans for tariffs.
Over the past weeks, Trump has been promoting this day, April 2, as the day of liberation, as prescribed, and it is expected that he will announce the imposition of comprehensive new customs duties on several countries at 10 pm Egypt time.
Experts say the tariffs could slow economic growth and exacerbate trade disputes.
The price of gold in Egypt
Gold prices rose in Egypt on Wednesday,with the 21st highest traded gold in Egypt at levels of 4435 pounds.
The price of 24-carat gold in Egypt also recorded levels of 5069 pounds, while 18-carat gold is trading at levels of 3801 pounds per gram.
The dollar prices in Egypt have not moved since the end of last week's trading, as the price of the goldsmith's dollar in Egypt is trading today at the levels of 50.30 pounds, the dollar price is also trading inside the official banks in Egypt at the levels of 50.62 pounds, while the dollar price is centered on the black market inside Egypt at the levels of 50.88 pounds.
