Gold prices rose on Tuesday morning as traders entered the holiday week, with sideways trades around USD 2620 levels. However, gold outperformed stocks throughout the year as gold enthusiasts celebrate a year of record highs and stellar performance.
Gold's rises during the current year have reached 28% since the beginning of the year, as the Fed was aggressive with the beginning of lowering interest rates, and geopolitical tensions in the Middle East have also led to a lot of rises in gold prices.
This week is considered somewhat calm due to the end of the year, and the Fed meeting last week and the fact that interest rates may not fall as much as expected, could negatively affect gold.
The price of gold in Egypt
On the other hand, gold prices in Egypt did not move on Tuesday, as the price of the 21st highest traded gold in Egypt is trading near the levels of 3760 pounds.
The price of 24-karat gold also recorded today at levels of 4297 pounds, while 18-karat gold reached levels of 3223 pounds per gram.
The price of the goldsmith's dollar in Egypt also rose again to trade at the levels of 51.10 pounds, while the dollar's price inside the official banks rose for the first time to trade near the levels of 51.15 pounds, and the dollar's price in the parallel market inside Egypt also remains stable at the levels of 51.15 pounds.
