The global price of gold
Gold prices fell on Thursday to trade lows of 2900 dollars per ounce despite the weakness of the US dollar in relatively volatile trading, as the precious metal gave up its gains made earlier in the session in anticipation of the upcoming US economic data, represented by non-farm payroll data on Friday tomorrow in search of evidence of the Fed's path towards easing monetary policy.
If the data comes out lower than expected, it will raise hopes for a reduction in interest rates, which is a boon for interest-bearing bullion, and vice versa if the data is positive.
