Gold prices rose on Thursday to reach near the levels of 3,350 dollars per ounce, coinciding with the sharp decline of the US dollar amid new signs that the Federal Reserve is adopting a cautious approach, but it has made some downward corrections now down to the levels of 3,340 dollars per ounce.
US President Trump has indicated that he may announce the new Fed chairman as early as September or October, reducing the influence of Chairman Powell before the expiration of his term and enhancing the influence of the next candidate.
On the other hand, the European Central Bank, the Bank of England, the people's Bank of China, the Reserve Bank of India and the Swiss National Bank have cut interest rates this month.
Geopolitically, the lull in the conflict between Iran and Israel has come without a sharp rise in gold prices.
The price of gold in Egypt
Gold prices rose in Egypt on Thursday, with the 21st highest traded gold in Egypt now trading at yesterday's levels at 4710 pounds.
The price of 24-carat gold in Egypt also recorded levels of 5383 pounds, while 18-carat gold is trading at levels of 4037 pounds per gram.
On the other hand, the exchange rate of the dollar is trading on Thursday in Egypt near the levels of 50.20 pounds, while the dollar rate inside the official banks in Egypt declined slightly down to the levels of 49.95 pounds, and the dollar price in the black market also declined to the levels of 50.21 pounds.
