The global price of gold
Gold prices rose Thursday near the levels of 2780 dollars per ounce amid fears of Trump's tariffs, although Trump did not mention gold in his tariff plans, traders were worried about the potential risks, which led to more gold being sent to New York.
Meanwhile, the Fed kept interest rates steady on Wednesday. Bank Chairman Jerome Powell said that there will be no rush to cut them again, Powell did not comment on Trump's statements regarding his recommendation of immediate interest rate cuts from global central banks.
Investors are now waiting for the US PCE price index report for December on Friday.
The price of gold in Egypt
On the other hand, gold prices in Egypt rose on Thursday, as the price of the 21st highest traded gold in Egypt reached the levels of 3878 pounds.
The price of 24-carat gold in Egypt also recorded rises today towards the levels of 4432 pounds, while 18-carat gold is trading at the levels of 3324 pounds per gram.
The price of the dollar minted in Egypt also fell on Thursday to the levels of 49.60 pounds, but the dollar price inside official banks today rose slightly to the levels of 50.29 pounds, while the dollar price in the parallel market inside Egypt recorded levels of 50.54 pounds.
