Gold prices fluctuated globally on Thursday, as the market awaits more clarity on policies from the administration of US President Donald Trump.
Expectations are that the tariffs that Trump is expected to impose will cause inflation to rise again, after a years-long battle to eliminate them.
The Trump administration also announced plans to impose a 10% tariff on imports starting next month, a lower rate than many expected, although the details are still uncertain.
However, the unpredictability of the actions of the new US President Trump is a new impetus for the precious metal.
The price of gold in Egypt
On the other hand, gold prices in Egypt rose on Thursday, as the price of the 21st highest traded gold in Egypt reached the levels of 3810 pounds.
The price of 24-carat gold in Egypt also recorded strong rises today towards the levels of 4354 pounds, while 18-carat gold is trading at the levels of 3266 pounds per gram.
However, the price of the dollar minted in Egypt rose today to trade at levels of 49.20 pounds, and the dollar price inside official banks rose today at levels of 50.38 pounds, with the dollar price in the parallel market inside Egypt reaching levels of 50.63 pounds.
