The global price of gold

Gold prices rose on Monday with the start of the trading week near the levels of 2870 dollars per ounce, due to fears of tariffs imposed by Trump on Canada and Mexico.

These tariffs are scheduled to come into force on the Fourth of March, along with additional duties of 10% on Chinese goods.

On the other hand, renewed concerns about the health of the US economy have strengthened market expectations for an interest rate cut by the Fed, increasing the attractiveness of bullion as a non-yielding asset.
