The global price of gold
Gold prices are trading today on a fluctuation between ups and downs, and the price has now stabilized at around 2915 dollars per ounce, supported by the weakening dollar and safe haven demand amid widespread fears of a wider trade war.
While US President Donald Trump has suspended tariffs of 25% on most goods from Canada and Mexico, Chinese countermeasures are scheduled to take effect later in the day.
On the other hand, investors are now waiting for the US inflation report, due to be released later this week, for more clarity on the Fed's interest rate path.
It is worth noting that Fed Chairman Jerome Powell said last Friday that we do not need to rush to cut interest rates despite the increased uncertainty in the US economic outlook.
The price of gold in Egypt
On the other hand, gold prices in Egypt fell slightly on Monday, as the 21st highest traded gold in Egypt recorded levels of 4125 pounds.
The price of 24-carat gold in Egypt recorded levels of 4714 pounds, while 18-carat gold is trading at levels of 3536 pounds per gram.
The price of the goldsmith's dollar in Egypt did not move today today, and it is still trading at the levels of 50.30 pounds, the dollar price also fell inside the official banks in Egypt down to the levels of 50.68 pounds, and the dollar price on the black market inside Egypt fell to yesterday's levels at 50.95 pounds.
