The global price of gold
Gold futures trimmed their gains after rising near a new record high earlier in the session, after the markets opened the day near an all-time high of 3,509.90 dollars per ounce.
The precious metal rose on Friday as tensions increased in the Middle East, which boosted the demand for Safe Haven, and analysts expect gold to set new record levels in the event of an intensification of the conflict between Israel and Iran in the coming days, or the expansion of the conflict with the presence of other forces, as gold closed on Friday at a rise of 1.35% after Israel launched strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, followed by Iranian counter-strikes with missiles and drones, and the two countries continued to launch air attacks on each other over the weekend.
Gold is considered a safe haven in times of geopolitical and economic uncertainty.
Investors are also looking forward this week to a set of monetary policy decisions of central banks, with the spotlight focused on the US Federal Reserve next Wednesday, which is widely expected that the US central bank will keep interest rates steady, as markets await signals about possible rate cuts in the coming months.
