Gold price in Egypt Today Monday 05 May 2025

The global price of gold

Gold prices rose on Monday as the dollar weakened, making up for some of last week's losses and now reaching levels of 3,300 dollars per ounce, although they are still down 2.2% for the week.

The precious metal declined over the past week as a result of declining demand for Safe Haven and increased risk appetite in the market, and economic data released on Friday showed a recovery in US employment, indicating that the economy is relatively strong despite trade pressures, and this may keep the Federal Reserve cautious of cutting interest rates in the short term, which is a barrier to non-interest-generating bullion.

What could push gold down again is the appearance of any signs of a thaw in trade talks between the United States and China, which could curb investor appetite.
