Gold prices rose on Tuesday, supported by a weaker US dollar as traders awaited whether President-elect Donald Trump's tariff plans will be less aggressive, but rising US Treasury yields could remain a major obstacle to further gains.
Investors are also waiting for the US jobs report due on Friday, which may help shed more light on the Fed's policy path.

On the other hand, gold prices in Egypt rose slightly on Tuesday, as the price of the 21st highest traded gold in Egypt reached near the levels of 3740 pounds.
The price of 24-carat gold in Egypt also recorded further declines today, reaching the levels of 4274 pounds, and 18-carat gold is also trading at the levels of 3206 pounds per gram.
The price of the dollar minted in Egypt is still trading today at the levels of 50.40 pounds, and the dollar price inside official banks did not move today near the levels of 50.70 pounds, with a decline in the dollar price in the parallel market inside Egypt at the levels of 50.96 pounds.
