Europe opens higher to catch up on Wall Street gains last Friday

Major European stock exchanges opened Monday's session with gains as investors continued to weigh recent remarks by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell that followed U.S. indexes rallied before last Friday's close.

In terms of European data, inflation figures are due from Germany and the eurozone this week.

The DAX rose 0.80% at the opening bell, and the Infineon also gained 1.67%.

The CAC 40 added 0.85%, with Schneider Electric up 1.80%.

The Euro Stoxx 50 also advanced 0.93% at the start of the session.

And the FTSE 100 is not trading today because of the holiday.
