Dow Jones starts the week with a slight rise

US indices open mixed for the week

US indices opened Monday's trading session with mixed performance.

This week, US markets are focused on the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision, which is expected to keep the US dollar rate unchanged at 3.75%. The market is also awaiting Fed Chair Jerome Powell's press conference and remarks, considered the most important event of the week.

Indices' Movement

Amid current market tensions and investor anticipation, the US indices opened as follows:

The Dow Jones opened slightly higher by 0.13%, reaching levels around 49,355.

Expectations still point to the Dow Jones rising to levels around 49,640.

The Nasdaq opened slightly lower, down 0.06%. Despite this, the index climbed to 25,746 today. Forecasts suggest we may see some corrections to the 25,500 level in the near term.

The S&P 500 opened slightly higher, up 0.11%, and continued its upward trend, reaching 6,953. Price action still indicates continued upward movement in the medium term, targeting 6,995. A break above this level is expected, which would confirm the continuation of the long-term upward trend.
