Bitcoin exceeded 97 thousand dollars on Thursday, hitting all-time highs and approaching the key 100 thousand dollar mark.
The total market capitalization of the cryptocurrency market has reached 3.2 trillion dollars, while Bitcoin alone is approaching 2 trillion dollars as its market capitalization.
Bitcoin has risen by about 40% in the past two weeks since the US election as investors expect the Trump administration to put in place more friendly regulations for the crypto sector, and a more favorable regulatory environment in the United States.
Throughout his election campaign, Trump also expressed his strong support for cryptocurrencies, vowing to make the United States the cryptocurrency capital of the planet and accumulate a national stock of bitcoin.
At the same time, many countries have bought bitcoin in large volumes, which indicates a noticeable shift towards global adoption of the digital currency.
